The last 2 years of my life have gone by so fast!After my Mom passed away it was like the fast forward button got pushed! Lucky for me I found Andrew right before all of the CHAOS! He helped me get through losing not only my mom but my best friend. But a lot of things have happened that have been unfortunate and God has helped me to pull through them so that is why I decided to start this blog! Just for some food for thought for those who need it!
So you already learned that my mom passed away but let me go back a little before that!
You see I have 2 kids Conner and Bailey, well when Conner was just a little over one their father hit me so I left him. Right after that I found out I was pregnant with Bailey. So here I was with a one year old and pregnant but to my mom she didnt care she was there and took us in. While I was pregnant with Bailey I was looking for a way to make a little money so I took a job at Halloween Haunt! Little did I know I would meet my future husband that year but didnt know it yet. Andrew and I were just friends at this point. I had Bailey the day after Christmas that year what just happened to be my moms birthday, the last she would spend with us! I spent the next 4 months at home then I decided to go to school for massage therapy! I went Monday through Friday while my mom watched my kids. Then Halloween Haunt rolled around again and I decided to work agian!
Andrew and I got put into the same maze again but this year something was different! There was something more there! We started taking and he asked me out! He was so easy to talk to! We could literally talk for hours. He made me feel important and good about myself. So about 3 weeks into our relationship I asked him to meet my kids! They loved him right away! But that is when things got hard! On November 30th, 2008 my mom passed away! It was very unexpected and I was the one that found her! My world flipped upside down!!! I was still in school I had 2 kids I had never been on my own and my main support system was gone! But God had better plans for me! He sent us OVERWHELMING support from very unexpected places! For Christmas he sent gifts and money for food. He sent me the Takiis who gave me the support I needed. They barely knew me and they took me in like I was one of them! and he gave me a Church to belong to. In the midst of the craziest thing that had ever happened to me I felt God surround me more then I had ever felt him my entire life! Andrew watch Conner and Bailey so I could go to school and finish! And I did only a month later then I was suppose to. I got a job before school ended and was taking care of the bills and a house! ( Well Andrew and I were) Andrew proposed to me in June of 2009 and we decided to get married in October because we were pretty much living together and we wanted to do it right!
So we met with our Pastor and started figuring out what he thought! 3 weeks after we got the go ahead from our Pastor we got married! It was a crazy 3 weeks but we got everything done and our wedding was beautiful!
We just celebrated our one year Anniversary! We are happy but going through many struggles many young couples do so I am going to use this blog to try to help young couples learn from our mistakes and just get some encouragement when times get though!
I leave you today with 4 things to remember
1.) GOD IS AMAZING and will provided for you in ways you will never fully understand Philippians 4:11 I am not telling you this because I need anything. I have learned to be satisfied with the things I have and with everything that happens
2.) Nothing can replace family
3.) Just because you are a young couple doesn't mean you are destine to fail!
4.) You can make it through rough times with a little faith
Deuteronomy 31:8 It is the Lord who goes before you, He will be with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
